NTA ABEOKUTA TREATS CHILDREN TO FUNFARE
Nigerian Television Authority(NTA),Abeokuta on Satrday treated children to a funfare,to enliven their spirits through socialization.
The ceremony which was supported by Superfood, an eatery outfit and airtel took place within the premises of the eatery company located in Ita-Eko area of Abeokuta,Ogun State Capital.
Dailydispacth report that, the occassion chaired by Ogun State Chief of Staff, Chief Tolu Odebiyi also has in attendance, Prince Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji(founder of penpushing,a social media outfit),Adeolu Balogun(Ag. Zonal Business Manager,Airtel West upland Zone),Hassan Momodu, Area Sales Manager,Airtel Abeokuta) Jerry Ajose(Chairman,Superfood) and Mrs Folashade Ajose(Managing Director,Superfood) among others
The colourful ceremony which was filled with funfare,also provide avenue for the children to participate in quiz competition, dance competition,ewi rendition and games among others.
The parents and guardians who accompanied their children who gaily dressed were not left out from the funfare,as many of them could not hide their joy by joining the kids to dance to various selected music being dished out by the DJ on ground
In his welcome speech, General Manager of NTA, Mrs Funmi Wakama explained that,the event has been designed to hold every month.
She said this month(November) edition was the maiden and served as a pilot project,adding that,It was a day of joy with lots of happiness in the air.
’We all are very glad and gathered here to celebrate with children born in this month of November. It is a day of joy with lots of happiness in the air’,Wakama said.
She emphasised that,the programme will come up every last Saturday of the month at same venue, stating that,the edition was an open invitation to parents to always bring their children and wards to celebrate their birthdays with NTA and Super foods.
The NTA boss said,there were lots to eat and drink, as well as lots of interesting games lined up,with available gifts.
She also appreciated guests for making out time to celebrate with the children,stressing that,this clearly demonstrates their love and care for children, who are the future leaders.
‘We can not but appreciate the contribution of parents and teachers to the lives of these young ones. As we celebrate, I would like to remind us of the need to renew our commitment towards children’s welfare including their health, wellbeing and sound education’,Wakama said.
The General Manager drew attention of parents, on need to continue to show love and affection towards these little ones, cherish their moments of innocence but also be firm to discipline, where and when necessary, as the development of our country lies in their hands.
‘Their rights must be respected and we must protect them predators and all forms of abuse. Remember, they are the building blocks of our nation’,she stressed.
She added, ‘I urge us all as parents, teachers or caregivers to join our hands together and make a pledge today to secure today, and future of these little ones’.
