NSCDC TURNS OUT 308 NEW OFFICERS AFTER ARMS TRAINING
Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps,(NSCDC), has turned out 308 new officers after completion of arm training.
The trainees from seven states of the federation which comprises Oyo,Edo, Ogun, Lagos, Ondo, Ekiti, Osun State Commands underwent the training called ‘College Composite Arms Training Programme (COCATRAP 01/02 at the Civil Defence College located in Abeokuta.
Speaking at the graduation,Commandant General,Abdullahi Mohammodu,said the corps would continued to train and retrain its officers and men in order o ensure that they have the needed skills to protect the country assets.
The Commandant who was represented by Zone F Commander, Waheed Popoola explained that the college is focusing on building professional capabilities in intensifying it’s efforts for better service delivery.
He,however, urged the trainees not to molest innocent civilians ,but to always abide by the rules of their engagement,as well as cautious that there are procedures and standards in weapon handling.
The College Provost,Rachael Awosusi in her remark identified the need to always subject the officers and men of the corps to such training in order to expose them to modern techniques of fighting terrorism and other forms of crime.
Awosusi said the agency has been given enormous responsibilities by the federal government and such must be performed without any form of negligence.
Meanwhile, the ceremony also witnessed the commissioning of different projects being embarked by the trainees which include a quarter guard,concrete signpost as well as major road demarcation at the college gate.
