NOA begins Sensitization on government policies, programmes and activities.

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) flagged off Sensitization of Government Policies, Programmes, and Activities yesterday, in Abuja.
According to the director general of the NOA Dr. Garba Abari “the aim for the Sensitization is to breach the communication gap between the citizens of Nigeria and government.
“This platform is at the core of the statutory mandate of the Agency as stated in its Act, creating opportunity for Ministers to brief the Nigerian public on policies, programme and activities emanating from their sector and to also provide opportunities for citizens to respond, raise questions and make inputs into these policies, programme and activities so that both the government and citizens would have better understanding of each other’s perspectives.
He further said that the National footprint of the Agency is to put in place to ensure that citizens fully understand the Policies and iprogrammes of government and key to them.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the occasion the Minister of Information and Culture Alh. Lai Mohammad represented by Dr. Atonda Kolawole said the present Administration has good intensions for Nigerians welfare and wellbeing therefor it will continue to carry Nigerians along to ensure they’re aware of what government is doing for them.
Speaking, the representative of the Chief of Defense Staff Gen. Habila Vintenaba said the Sensitization is to enhance transparency on the part of government to her citizens. Adding that it would also enhance cooperation between governmnet and the people to bring about development.
He urged all Agencies to partner with Security Agencies to ensure a more secured society for citizens.
During his presentation, the Minister of Communication Barr. Adebayo Shitu said the platform was a privilege for government to tell Nigerians what it has been up to for the betterment of the nation and as well address the key areas in the information and communication technology (ICT), like local content development, human capital capacity building amongst many.
“The ICT sector is employing more than even the oil sector, and government will continue to partner with foreign countries like the National ICT park and the ICT bank”.
He added that 100m dollar’s loan will be provided by the Indian government to ensure the success of these initiative.
