No one is safe in this country- Saraki

The Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki has declared his intention tio run for the office the president of the Federal republic of Nigeria in the forth coming presidential election in Febeurary 2019.
He made his intention known in a speech he delivered at a dialogue with Youth and young aspirants held at Sheraton Hotel in Abuja, today.
In his speech, he highlighted the challenges facing the country presently and assured the youth of his intention to ensure their security , if elected to office.
Saraki noted, in his 25 paragraph speech that äs things stand now no one is safe in this country. No one feels truly safe. We must restore the sanctity of the rule of law and strengthen democratic institutions.
He ascribe his decision to run for the office of the President to a response to a clarion call by concerned citizens who are majorly youths across the country.
He reminded his listeners that the next election offers the opportunity to either keep things the way they are of chart a radical course of departure from the old ways.
The Senate President, who has been a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress party until recently when he decamped to Peoples Democratic Party, has put an end to speculations surrounding his political ambition.
Many watchers have noted that the Senate President left the ruling All Progressive Congress Party, because the ruling party was seen as an obstacle to his presidential ambition.
Today’s declaration further added to the number of aspirants on the platform of Peoples democratic Party, the main opposition party in Nigeria. The party now has over 12 presidential aspirants, among the front runners are ; former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwanso, etc. The primary election of the Party is slated for between 15th of September and 6th of October 2018.
