NNPC, Seplat Announce Four-Day Maintenance on Major Gas Facilities
NNPC Ltd has announced that Seplat Energy Plc, one of its Joint Venture partners and a major gas supplier to the NNPC Gas Infrastructure Company Limited (NGIC) pipeline network, will undertake scheduled routine maintenance on its gas production facilities from February 12 to February 15, 2026.
According to a statement issued by the Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Ltd, Mr. Andy Odeh, the planned maintenance forms part of standard safety and asset integrity procedures aimed at ensuring the long-term reliability and efficiency of critical gas infrastructure.
The company emphasized that periodic maintenance of this nature is essential to sustain optimal system performance, strengthen operational resilience, and minimize the risk of unexpected outages across the network.
During the four-day exercise, there will be a temporary reduction in gas supply into the NGIC pipeline system. As a result, some power generation companies that rely on this supply may experience reduced gas availability, potentially leading to a modest decline in electricity generation within the period.
NNPC Ltd and Seplat Energy assured stakeholders that they are working closely to ensure the maintenance is carried out safely and completed within schedule. In addition, NNPC Gas Marketing Limited (NGML) is engaging alternative gas suppliers to cushion the anticipated supply gap and maintain network stability.
The companies expressed confidence that full gas supply into the NGIC system will resume promptly upon completion of the maintenance work, allowing affected power generation companies to return to normal output levels.
NNPC Ltd stated that further updates would be communicated as necessary to keep stakeholders and the public informed.
