Nigeria’s Ambassador to Hungary, Ogwime, Honoured to Commission Hungarian-African House

Nigeria’s Ambassador to Hungary, with concurrent accreditation to Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenia, Ambassador (Engr.) Abass Braimah Ogwime, has been selected among African ambassadors accredited to Hungary to commission the newly established Hungarian-African House (Magyar-Afrika Ház) in Budapest.


Ambassador Ogwime also served as the Guest Speaker at the opening ceremony of the facility held in Budapest on Friday, October 2, 2026.


The event attracted members of the diplomatic community, representatives of the Hungarian Government, African Heads of Mission, business leaders, investors, members of the African diaspora and other stakeholders committed to strengthening relations between Hungary and African countries.


The Hungarian-African House, an initiative of the Foundation for Africa, is designed to provide a permanent platform for dialogue, business engagement, cultural exchange and cooperation between Hungary and African nations.


The facility is expected to serve as a meeting point for Hungarian and African businesses, institutions, investors, academics and other stakeholders seeking to establish partnerships and develop practical areas of cooperation.


The participation of Ambassador Ogwime in the commissioning further highlighted Nigeria’s diplomatic engagement in Hungary and its interest in promoting stronger economic, cultural and institutional partnerships between Nigeria, Africa and Hungary.


The Embassy of Nigeria in Budapest reaffirmed its commitment to advancing diplomacy, partnership and shared prosperity, while supporting initiatives that bring Nigerian, African and Hungarian institutions, businesses and communities together for mutually beneficial cooperation.
