NIGERIANS SAYS MILITARY INTERVENTION IN ZIMBABWE IS A LESSON FOR SIT-TIGHT LEADERS GLOBALLY

Cross section of Nigerians have reacted to the ‘military coup’ in Zimbabwe and ‘removal’ of the controversial President,Robert Mugagbe‎ saying the development should serve as a lesson for other sit-tight leaders across the globe.
The participants on penpushing platform,a social media said this in their various contributions, while reacting to the development, but gave advice that, the military should avoid temptation of staying in office more than necessary.
In his own contribution,‎Tayo Adelaja expressed shock why Mugabe has remained glued to office at 93 and having ruled the country  for 37 years.
‘The forceful take over of government in Zimbabwe is a lesson to the sit tight African leaders. At 93 and 37years of misrule, what else does President Mugabe want?’,Adelaja said.
‘Recently he sent his Deputy packing to pave the way for his wife to succeed him as President of Zimbabwe. No wonder the good people of Zimbabwe were jubilating and celebrating the end of tyranny in Zimbabwe’,Adelaja stated.
In his own reaction, Sulaiman Fasasi, was of the opinion that, the military operations maybe in conjuction with foreign involvement and active participation of some insiders in the country.
‘Outsiders with support of insiders. Who says this situation in Zimbabwe doesn’t have external backing?‎’,he stated
Similarly, Olusesi Obateye said,‎the embattled president has outstayed and becoming unbearable for good purposes for the country.
‘We just have to let it go this way or else we would be seen as speaking from both sides of our mouth. Mugabe has overstayed, he is becoming unbearable for good purposes’,the clergyman said.
Obateye was of the view that,Mugabe wanted to turn the country to his personal estate,by trying to manovuer his way by handing over to his family.
‘He wanted to make Zimbabwe his personal estate whereby his wife will hand over power to Mugabe’s children’,Obateye said.
‘The Zimbabwean military has acted in the best interest of the country to prevent outbreak of civil war.  The military should be applauded for stepping in this time’,the cleric emphasised.
Also reacting,Kayode Ogunbunmi, said the military intervention was timely, but with a caution that, they should handover to Mugabe Deputy to sort out things and therefter return to barrack.
‘They (military) would be heroes if they just hand over power to the VP to sort things out and they return to the barracks‎’,Ogunbunmi posited
In his own submission,Ola Animasaun also said, the military should be brief on their stay,to organise and pave way for free and fair election.
‘A very brief, all inclusive (6 months) “DIARCHY”  government to organise a “free and fair” election, bearing in mind the MORGAN TSANGARAI and other OPPOSITION FACTORS’.
He said,it was not appropriate to re-instate Mugabe’s deputy to continue in office.
‘It is not just enough to reinstate Mugabe’s deputy to continue, they’ve(military) got to go the whole hog if truely the military is trying to return sanity to that country,Animasaun said.
In the same vein,Biodun Ndola wrote, ‘the civil society wouldn’t have been able to challenge Mugabe under any guise. Let’s give it to the Military and pray that they will do the needful’.
