Nigerians are unhappy with state of the nation- Yoruba Ronu Group

As the nation inches closer to the 2023 general elections and deeper into the frenzy of electioneering, we have established that a majority of Nigerians are unhappy and in a state of despondency due to poor living conditions and general state of affairs in the country, the Chairperson of Yoruba Ronu Group, Prince Diran Iyantan, has said.

Iyantan spoke while commenting on the state of the nation.

He said the current unbearable state of the nation raised concerns of a conspiratorial report in some quarters to deny Asiwaju Tinubu the presidency.

He stated that the present hardship facing Nigerians, to which lip service was being paid was not salutary to the campaign of Asiwaju Tinubu.

He wondered why the current fuel scarcity was lingering on for too long and the new naira notes were becoming so difficult to access by Nigerians.

All these, Iyantan said, were causing unnecessary disruptions in the nation’s economy and had precipitated untold hardship to the citizens.

“There are several people who think this is some sort of vast conspiratorial plot on the part of the ruling party to deny Asiwaji Tinubu the presidency as Asiwaju Tinubu himself gave a sly, conspiratorial wink at Abeokuta during his campaign in Ogun State recently.”

Iyantan however denied the involvement of President Buhari as a possible collaborator.

He rejected the thesis as conspiratorial and irritatingly simplistic.

He said no president in the history of the world would ever want an opposition party to succeed him.

According to him: “President Muhammadu Buhari is a true party man and is wise enough to know it is in his best interest for Bola Tinubu to be his successor so as to protect his good work and continue from where he stopped than for another political party to destroy all his legacies.”

He therefore appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to quickly sanitise and restore orderliness in the polity and avoid masses’ revolt, “a time bomb possibility, as there is a limit to human endurance when going through pains.”

The president, he said, should make the new naira notes abundantly available to Nigerians to access, while he should also end the lingering fuel scarcity in the country within the shortest possible time to alleviate the current suffering of Nigerians.

The Yoruba Ronu leader also condemned as barbaric and criminal act the recent incident of stoning the president’s convoy during his visit to Kano State, “a state wh ere he is well loved and has a large pool of cult-like followers.”

The leadership also cautioned that it was indicative of the frustrations Nigerians were going through.

The Group is however seeking understanding from Nigerians to “keep their renewed hope for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the man that will turn things around for them.”

The group stated that “Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has his own different identity. He has been tested and trusted by Lagosian as a great achievers. Many Nigerians can also testify to his good work as having the capacity and wherewithal to take Nigeria to the promised land, an Eldorado of boundless riches and growth if elected as Nigeria next President.”
