Nigeria @65: Akpabio Urges Nigerians to Endure Reforms, Says Better Days Ahead
Senate President Godswill Akpabio has assured Nigerians that the country is on the right path, with President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms beginning to yield results.
In a statement personally signed by him to mark Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary on Tuesday, Akpabio commended citizens for their resilience and patience over the past two years, urging them to remain steadfast as the government works to stabilise the economy.
He said the pains occasioned by the ongoing reforms are temporary and will soon give way to benefits that will secure the future of the nation.
“We are not unaware of the pains occasioned by the reforms, but I want to assure you, very soon, this will be a thing of the past because the benefits of the reforms are beginning to manifest positively,” Akpabio said.
While congratulating President Tinubu, members of the National Assembly, the judiciary, and Nigerians at home and abroad, the Senate President dismissed suggestions that Nigeria is irredeemable.
“I must tell you that Nigeria is not finished. Do not buy into the mischievous narrative that Nigeria is irredeemable. We are on the right pedestal and the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration is reshaping the country; we are growing and making progress,” he added.
Akpabio called on all Nigerians to unite in support of the government’s efforts, stressing that collective commitment to the reforms would guarantee a stronger and more prosperous nation.
