NERC Grants Approval For 18 Additional Band A Feeders For Kaduna Electric

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has authorized an increase in the number of feeders receiving 20 hours of power supply daily. This includes the addition of one 11KV feeder and Seventeen 33KV feeders.

As a result, Kaduna Electric’s count of Band A feeders has increased from 37 to 55. Since commencement of the Service Based Tariff on April 1st, all Band A feeders in Kaduna Electric’s service areas of Kaduna, Sokoto, Zamfara, and Kebbi have been receiving a minimum of 20 hours of power supply each day.

In response to NERC’s approval, Kaduna Electric’s Chief Operating Officer, Sadiq Mohammed, expressed delight that the approval is a positive development which is an affirmation of the company’s tirelless efforts to improve power supply to more customers. He said with more feeders jerked up to Band A, more customers are guaranteed of the minimum 20 hours of supply per day barring any unforseen texhnical issues.

The newly approved Band A feeders include the 11KV Fifth Chukker, 33KV Rigasa, 33KV Arewa Bottlers, 33KV Gonin Gora, 33KV Unguwan Boro, 33KV Turunku, 33KV Kafanchan, 33KV Hanwa and 33KV Kofan Doka in Kaduna State.

In Sokoto State, 33KV New Injection and 33KV Farfaru were also approved. . Additional feeders are 33KV Magami, 33KV tsafe, 33KV Mafara, 33KV Bakura, 33KV Maradun and 33KV Anka in Zamfara State.
