Near Foundation Reaches 150,000 Families with Qurban Meat Distribution Across 26 States
The Near Foundation has successfully distributed Qurban meat packages to an estimated 150,000 families across 26 states in Nigeria as part of its annual humanitarian outreach aimed at supporting vulnerable communities during the Eid al-Adha festive season.

According to the foundation, a total of 2,100 cows were slaughtered nationwide, with the meat processed and distributed to families and communities that lacked the means to perform the Qurban sacrifice themselves.
The initiative was designed to spread hope, joy, and a sense of inclusion during the celebration, particularly among internally displaced persons (IDPs), persons living with disabilities, widows, and other underserved groups.

In the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, the foundation carried out extensive distributions in partnership with government agencies and humanitarian organizations. Beneficiaries included 300 families at the Malaysian Garden IDP Camp in collaboration with the FCT Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), 300 recipients through the Ministry of Women Affairs, and 400 packages distributed at the Karonmajiji community of persons living with disabilities.

Additional distributions saw 300 packages delivered in collaboration with the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, 700 packages shared at the Durumi IDP Camp in Area 1, 650 packages distributed through AANDEC to wives of fallen heroes, and 200 packages delivered to Ruga settlements in Wuye and Idu areas of Abuja.
The foundation noted that similar distribution exercises were simultaneously conducted in Kano, Kaduna, Yobe, Lagos, Sokoto, Niger, Edo, Zamfara, Kwara, Rivers, Kebbi, Adamawa, and several other states, bringing the total coverage to 26 states nationwide.
Speaking on the impact of the programme, the General Secretary of Near Foundation Mr. Halil Ibrahim Ince emphasised the commitment to supporting vulnerable populations and fostering community solidarity through humanitarian interventions.
The Near Foundation expressed appreciation to its international partners and supporters whose contributions made the large-scale outreach possible. Special recognition was given to Time to Help Germany, Time to Help Netherlands, Time to Help Belgium, Time to Help UK, Hizmet Denmark, as well as numerous donors, sponsors, and volunteers who supported the initiative.
The foundation reaffirmed its commitment to continuing humanitarian efforts that improve the lives of disadvantaged communities across Nigeria.
