NDLEA Secures Final Forfeiture of ₦1bn Victoria Island Hotel Linked to Drug Cartel

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has obtained a court order for the final forfeiture of an 80-room luxury hotel and lounge in Victoria Island, Lagos, after investigators traced it to a drug trafficking syndicate involved in the distribution of illicit substances.
The property, located at No. 16 Waziri Ibrahim Street, off Elsie Femi Pearse Road, was stormed by NDLEA operatives in a two-day raid between April 25 and 26, 2025. After hours of intensive search, officers recovered 589 bags of Canadian Loud — a potent strain of cannabis — weighing 417.3 kilograms and valued at about ₦1,042,500,000 on the street.
Alongside the hotel and its land, the court also ordered the forfeiture of several vehicles, including a Toyota Sienna (KJA 79 HJ), Volkswagen Delivery Van (AAA 525 JE), KIA Ceranto (BDG 860 GQ), and a black Toyota Land Cruiser Prado (AKD 472 DZ). Others are a red Grand Caravan Dodge (APP 847 YF), white Mazda bus (KTU 241 AAA), Mercedes Benz truck (ASB 500 XY), gold Toyota Corolla (EKY 295 JT), and an ash Sienna minibus.
Additional items seized include 84 television sets, 70 air-conditioning units, and 13 refrigerators.
The NDLEA confirmed that Justice Ibrahim Ahmad Kala granted the final forfeiture orders on Friday, July 18, 2025, in response to motion number FHC/L/MISC/447/2025 filed by the agency.
