Clerk of the National Assembly, Alhaji Mohammed Sani Omolori may have threatened to withhold salaries of aides to the lawmakers over in ability to perfect their documentations/interview at the assembly complex.

The salary arrears running over hundreds of million naira is believed to be in the custody of the clerk, and may not be paid since the proper documentation are yet to be done by aides to the lawmakers.

According to a reliable source at the assembly who confided in Daily Dispatch disclosed that since the inauguration of the 9th Assembly on June 11th, 2019, most of the lawmakers have not submitted the details of their aides to the clerk, be it old and new.

The source confirmed that up till the moment, their appointment letters have not been given to ascertain the real aides.

He noted that because of non payment of aides salaries, many of them could not afford to travel for the Salah holiday while many others were seeing loitering around the assembly complex.

Similarly, it was gathered that since the inauguration, many of the aides cannot even afford accommodation as they were usually sighted either squatting with assembly staff or other occupants at the complex.
