N54b Contracts: Probe Amosun Administration Now – LP Boss Tasks Gov Abiodun

Chairman, Ogun State Labour Party (LP), Comrade Abayomi Arabambi has charged Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun to verify every level of awarded contracts by his predecessor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun between 2011 and 2019.
He submitted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration of the immediate past governor, Senator Amosun in the state was characterised with suspected fraudulent cronies and contractors on roads construction.
Arabambi made this call in a press statement on Ogun State chapter of Labour Party position on the further one week extension of lockdown and one year in office of Governor Dapo Abiodun, that was made available to newsmen in Abeokuta on Saturday.
The outspoken chairman confirmed that in arresting the spread of COVID-19 in the state, it was highly essential that the government must be commended very strongly for her very visible performance at arresting further spread of COVID-19.
He however emphasised on the need to draw the attention of the governor to some areas that still need much attention, such as education, developments of infrastructures, the high rate of frightening unemployment in the state.
“There is a need to verify every level of awarded contracts by the APC administration of Senator Ibikunle Amosun from 2011 to 2019 may to suspected fraudulent cronies and contractors on roads construction.
“Mitros Specialist hospitals that have not been completed according to the terms of contract while 90% to 100% payments have been effected.
“Every inch of the 23 model schools awarded to ghost contractors with no visible address at a combined cost of N54b as 21 of them are now serving as fields of habitation for lunatics and wild animals should be thoroughly looked into very quickly.
“And if needed, it could be accorded the status of attracting a Judicial Panel of inquiry that will cause all books to be opened while the past commissioners involved must be held accountable and charge to court for comprise and willing accessories to fraud with the erring contractors,” he opined.
