MURIC Replies Miyetti Allah’s ‘Fulani Will Rule Forever’ Comments, Says Nigeria Belongs To All

Muslim right group, Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), has reacted a statement allegedly made by National President of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Bello Abdullahi Bodejo, in which he allegedly said that Fulani will rule Nigeria forever, insisting that Nigeria as a country belongs to all and not just one ethnic group.

The statement, signed by MURIC Director, Professor Ishaq Akintola, urged Nigerians to ignore the Miyetti Allah comments as it seeks for the leadership of the group to make clarifications about the comments.

Speaking further, MURIC stated that the provocative statement is either just another fake news making the rounds or a deliberate distortion of what the Miyetti Allah president really said.

The full statement reads: “We call on Miyetti Allah to confirm or deny the alleged statement. We affirm that Nigeria belongs to no particular tribe and every ethnic group has a stake in the Nigerian project. Leadership is therefore not the birthright of any ethnicity.

“We appeal to Nigerians to ignore the statement allegedly made by Miyetti Allah and to allow the group to make clarifications. We call on leaders to avoid divisive, explosive and provocative statements.

“We strongly suspect that the alleged statement is either a product of fake news or that the real statement had been deliberately distorted or that Miyetti Allah leader has been inadvertently misquoted. This is why a clarification is necessary at this point in time.

“MURIC will continue to stand for justice, fairness and equal rights no matter whose ox is gored. Stability, peace and prosperity in every part of Nigeria is the major concern of the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC). Neither shall we favour one tribe over another.”
