Militias From Benue Have Kidnap Seriki Hausa In Kogi State

The Seriki Hausa of Bagana community in Omala Local Government Area of Kogi, Alhaji Audi Musa has been reported kidnapped.
Investigations revealed that militias from Agatu area of Benue invaded the community last Monday and whisking away the Seriki Hausa community, the invasion, has thrown the area into distress.
Sources informed that about 20 gunmen believed to be from Agatu area of Benue state, raided the village and whisked the Hausa leader away while he was asleep.
The kidnappers, who were said to have been armed with dangerous weapons, fired sporadically into the air to scare away people so as to gain access to their victim.

A community member said: “We were taken by surprise as it was late in the night. The gunmen who came in through the Benue state axis were armed with AK-47 rifles and improvised explosive devices.
“They went straight to their target, Alhaji Audi Musa, tied him to their motorbike and dragged him on a long distance before escaping through a footpath.
“As I am talking to you, his whereabouts is not known and the entire town is now a ghost of itself as people have been leaving in droves to avoid being caught in any reprisal attack.”
The state police spokesperson Williams Aya confirmed his abduction but said men of the command have been mobilized and are combing the area in order to get the Hausa leader back from his abductors.
