Mass resignation in SIA cabinet :A witch hunt?
A gale of targeted Resignation was on Friday engineered by Ogun state Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun.
Most of those affected by the gale of resignation are people who have secured tickets to contest for one position or the other in either APM or APC.
The Electoral Act stipulates that anyone contesting for one position or the other must resign their appointive positions 30 days before election.
Those said to have resigned include the Chief of Staff, Tolu Odebiyi, Commissioner for Sport, Afolabi Afuape, as well as Special Advisers like Bayo Adeyemi, Lanre Edun, Tola Banjo, Gbeleyi, Muse Lamidi and Mrs Dewunmi Onanuga
Curiously, Segun Bamiwola and Mrs Sola Arobieke who are not contesting for any position were added on the list.
Interestingly, the Deputy Governorship candidate of the APM and the commissioner for Agriculture, Peju Adebajo, the Secretary to the State Government, Taiwo Adeoluwa, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Dayo Adeneye, DG Lands, Biyi Ismail, and the commissioners for Forestry and Education, , Kola Lawal and Mrs Mujota and the Chairman of the Local Government service commission, Rotimi Rahman who were all equally running for one office or the other on the platform of APM were left out from those said to have exited the government.
Their exclusion from the list immediately raised eyebrow painting the move as designed to get at some targeted people who may have fallen out of favor with the Governor.
