MAPOLY Matriculates 2,850 For 2016/2017 Academic Session

Moshood Abiola Polytechnic,MAPOLY, Abeokuta,has matriculated over 2,850 students for its next 2016/2017 academic session.
The rector of the institution,Prof Oludele Itiola made this known in his speech at the matriculation and oath taking ceremony of newly admitted students,held at the polytechnic auditorium,Abeokuta.
He explained that the matriculated students were for both full time and part time programme in all the departments of the institution.

Itiola,said the school was a renowned institution which towards attaining its vision was fast becoming a reference point in technological education.

He urged the students to be prepared to contribute their quota through knowledge to lift the nation out of global economic challenges.

“You have enrolled into a tertiary institution at a time our dear Country is in dear need of appropriate human capital to help her out of the global economic challenges’,he told the students.

The rector pointed out that,the ceremony marked the commencement of their career pursuits,as they are putting their feet on the path towards the dreams they intend to actuallize

“We value not only your academic achievements and potentials but also look forward to the character traits, skills and competence that will make us proud of you as mentors and parents’,he stated.

“Your colleagues, who were here before you have laid credence to our exploits in national development, in such areas as communication, engineering, business management and sciences, ” he said.

Itiola explained that the institution would continue to create an enabling environment for quality teaching and learning through conducive lecture spaces, 24-hour uninterrupted electricity supply.

He advised the students to be focused, committed and ensure discipline so as to graduate in flying colours.

“Let me wish you well in your development journey. I encourage you to take on leadership positions in the various fields that you have chosen. Do not forget to continue to find ways to contribute to and make a difference to your society, ” he said.

In his own remark, Director, Students’ Affairs, Seyi Sobande advised the students to abide by the institutions rules and regulations.

He urged the students to always report any challenges to the appropriate authority, adding that they should desist from joining bad associations.
