Man Allegedly Defraud Bandits of N95 Million Meant for Firearms Deal

Tension is reportedly mounting in parts of Katsina State following allegations that a man disappeared after collecting N95 million from a suspected bandit leader under the guise of supplying high-grade firearms.

The allegation was made public by Hon. Abdullahi Aliyu, popularly known as General, who represents the Musawa/Matazu Federal Constituency.

According to his account, the suspect allegedly convinced the bandit leader that he could procure and deliver sophisticated weapons.

Aliyu said the payment was reportedly made in full, but the promised firearms were never delivered.

The suspect is said to have gone into hiding immediately after receiving the money, and his whereabouts remain unknown.

The development has reportedly generated anxiety within the affected communities, with fears that the incident could trigger reprisals or violent confrontations among criminal elements operating in the area.

Security agencies have not yet issued an official statement confirming the allegation or announcing any arrest in connection with the reported fraud.

Katsina State has continued to face security challenges linked to armed banditry, kidnapping, and illegal arms trafficking.
