Mahmud wins BCGS ladies Monday outing
ABIODUN JIMOH, BENIN CITY
Ex lady captain, Suwadetu Mahmud emerged winner at the Benin club golf section (BCGS) Special Ladies Monday Outing held at the golf course, Benin City.
At the nine holes golf event sponsored by Sam Awiaka to mark his birthday at the club, Mahmud with a net score of 39 defeated lady captain, Princess Habiibah Oyeghe Oyarekhua on count-back to win the ladies cadre.
The second runner -up went to former South-South zonal vice-president, Lady Golfers Association of Nigeria (LGAN), Debby Otabor, who also beat another ex-lady captain, Nora Ucheagu on count-back as both recorded 41 net.
In the ladies veteran category, Omosefe Osaghae played 41 net to be adjudged as winner courtesy of count-back over Mabel Osayi.
The men’s category was a stiff battle as Peter Oboro beat Victor Oriasotie on count-back as they both played 36 net, just as vice captain, Mayer Ologbosere placed second runner-up with 38 net.
Highlight of the event was the presentation of various prizes to those who distinguished themselves at the event as well as entertainment of club members, guests and host of others.
