Magu: How cabals in the Presidency stopped EFCC boss confirmation by senate – Shehu Sani

Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, on Thursday claimed that the senate refused to confirm Ibrahim Magu as the substantive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, due to corrupt powers in the Presidency.

Recall that the Upper Legislative Chambers had on Wednesday rejected the anti-graft Czar, following a report from the Department of State Services, DSS, claiming that Magu failed integrity test.

Reacting to Magu’s rejection, the outspoken lawmaker said the “civil war” in the “President’s kitchen cabinets” was why the senate refused to confirm Magu.

Addressing a delegation of the National Association of Muslim Law Students in his office in Abuja, Sani said, “Magu is a victim of the civil war between in the President’s kitchen cabinet. It is high time the President stood his feet to stop power blocs who are desirous of undermining and subverting his efforts.”
