LIONS CLUB DONATES 5000 NOTE BOOKS TO OGUN PRIMARY SCHOOLS
The International Lions Club Nigeria, District 404 B1 has donated about 5000 notes books for five primary schools in some local government areas of Ogun State.
The beneficiaries of the gestures include; Obafemi Owode Local Authority Primary school, Adigbe in Obafemi Owode local government, Community Primary School Olomore in Abeokuta North local area and ANLG primary school, Ago Owu,Methodist School, Ago Oko and Ahmadiyya Pry school, Ago Odo.
Speaking to journalists after the donation, President of Region 8 of the Club, Abimbola Aina-David said the donation part of the club social responsibilities to uplift standard of education at the primary level.
He added that,this was borne out of the commitment and philosophy of the International Lions Club to assist the less privilege stressing that ‘where there is a will there is always a lion’.
“We decided to select five primary schools as our little contribution not only to assist the pupils but to also uplift the educational development in the areas visited. It is also aimed at assisting their parents and government who cannot do everything at a go’,he stated.
“At Lions Club, corporate social responsibility is taken wholeheartedly, so this gesture will be a continuous exercise, because we shall continue to give to the Society,” Aina-David said.
