Let Nigeria burn and be free instead of hiding the truth — Sani tells TY Danjuma
Senator Shehu Sani has challenged General Danjuma to speak up following recent statement at Tribunal’s Anniversary book launch.
To say Nigeria is sitting on many fault lines is an understatement. Every passing day we tend to get more divided despite many calls to mend fences, and get along as a truly united country. But then, even the much talked about ‘unity’ is said to have been an old scam meant to hold a particular part of the country, hostage.
The country is wrapped in secrecy so much that our current struggles as a nation, feels justifiable. But truth they say, no matter how long it’s buried, will surely come out. And that’s exactly what Nigeria is current experiencing.
Side talks aside, our old folks are finally beginning to spill the beans albeit subtly. We’ve had the likes of Obasanjo, Babangida and Gowon speak on national issues more often than usual, but the latest to send ripples across the social media space is General Theophilus Danjuma who is heavily part of Nigeria’s chaotic history especially during the military era.
The former defense minister while speaking on Thursday, at a book presentation marking the 70th anniversary of the Nigerian Tribune, said Nigerians are in a ‘big hole as a nation,’ and that President Muhammadu Buhari is not here to rule the country, but rather, ‘dominate us’.
