Kuliyan Ilorin Donates Multi-Million Naira Law Books to Muhammad Kamalud-deen University
Muhammad Kamalud-deen University (MKU), Ilorin, has received a donation of law textbooks worth several millions of naira from the Kuliyan of Ilorin Emirate, Yusuf Olaolu Ali, to support the establishment of the institution’s proposed Faculty of Law.
The books were formally presented at Ghalib Chambers in Ilorin as part of the university’s preparations for the commencement of its Law programme.
Speaking during the presentation, Prof. Ali said the donation underscored his commitment to promoting quality education and supporting institutions dedicated to producing the next generation of legal professionals.
The Senior Advocate of Nigeria described education as a vital pillar of national development, expressing confidence that Muhammad Kamalud-deen University possesses the vision and capacity to train competent lawyers who will make meaningful contributions to society.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the university, the Vice-Chancellor, Rasheed Gbenga Jimoh, described the gesture as a major boost to the institution’s efforts to establish a standard Faculty of Law.
He said the donated textbooks would significantly enrich the university library and provide valuable academic resources for both students and lecturers ahead of the take-off of the programme.
Prof. Jimoh reaffirmed the university’s commitment to preserving and promoting the legacy of its founder, Sheikh Muhammad Kamaldeen Habeebullah Musa Al-Adaby, noting that the donation reflected Prof. Ali’s respect for the late Islamic scholar and his dedication to advancing the institution.
The Vice-Chancellor conveyed the appreciation of the university’s Governing Council, management, staff, students and the entire academic community, describing the donation as a generous contribution to educational development and institutional growth.
He also prayed for Allah’s continued blessings, good health and greater accomplishments for Prof. Ali in recognition of his unwavering support for education.
