Kogi Guber: Validity of Musa Wada as PDP candidate still in question, says Ohikere

Dr Tom Ohikere, the Secretary of the Media and Publicity Committee of the Kogi State 2019 All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Campaign Council has disclosed that the court pronouncement earlier today on the case brought before it by Abubakar Idris, son of erstwhile governor Ibrahim Idris challenging the candidacy of Engr Musa Wada means that the validity of Musa Wada as the authentic candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is still in question.

The court in Lokoja today adjourned the case till after the election.

Ohikere said as it stands Musa Wada is only the tentative candidate whose name is on the ballot but could be overturned after the election so the PDP controversy continues.

He stated this in a statement made available to journalists on Tuesday. Attributing the continuation of the case to the deep division and impunity in the party”.

He said: “The court have adjourned judgment in the PDP primaries, so the party will go into the election with their charade. The party is still caught up in the wind as Abubakar Idris is unrelenting on his initial position. What this means is that Musa Wada is the interim and tentative candidate of the party”.

“Is candidacy of the party is still in question. That is a confusing thing for the electorates. This means they are carrying their dispute to after the election. Is this the kind of candidate or party the people of Kogi state should vote for”.

“The PDP is accustomed to this kind of fraudulent scenario, they don’t mind who is on the ballot as long as they can successfully hoodwink the electorates”.
