Kidnapping: Governor Sule Vows To Tackle Crime In Nasarawa
Governor Abdullahi A. Sule of Nasarawa State has on Thursday vowed not to spare anybody caught in criminal activities in the state.
Sule’s position was contained in a press statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary to the governor Mallam Ibrahim Addra and made available to newsmen in Lafia the State capital.
This statement has come a day after two of Maku’s nephews were killed and a housewife kidnapped at gunpoint at Gudi, the governor’s ancestral home on Tuesday.
Governor Sule recalled that a meeting of over 70 graded traditional rulers, heads of security agencies and community leaders which held on Wednesday in the state as a critical step towards checking the menace.
Sule, gave assurance when he paid a condolence visit to the residence of father of an officer of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Salisu Usman who was killed along with his Sister Sa’adatu in Gudi, Akwanga Local government area of the state.
The governor who condoled with the Mr. Labaran Maku a former minister and relative of the father of the late siblings calling for sustained efforts to rid the state of criminal elements.
Daily Independent learnt that the kidnappers are demanding for N20 million as ransom before the release of Mrs Asamahu Maku, the wife of the late Salisu Maku.
