Kidnappers Abduct Adelabu’s Sister, Twin Sons in Ibadan

The family of Chief Adebayo Adelabu, former Minister of Power and a leading governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, has confirmed the abduction of his younger sister, Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, and her twin sons, Peter and Paul.
According to a statement issued on Wednesday by Adelabu’s Media Aide, Comrade Femi Awogboro, the victims were kidnapped by armed gunmen at about 7:30 a.m. while Mrs. John-Paul was taking her children to school in Ibadan.
The abductors reportedly forcefully took away the 43-year-old mother and her 12-year-old twin sons during the incident.
The family disclosed that security and law enforcement agencies were immediately notified and have since commenced investigations into the matter.
“We are pleased to confirm that security operatives have swung into action and preliminary investigations have commenced in earnest. Efforts are currently ongoing to ensure the safe rescue of the victims and the apprehension of those responsible for this heinous crime,” the statement said.
Mrs. John-Paul, the youngest of five children of Mrs. Olufunmilayo Aduke Adegoke Adelabu, recently retired after serving at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and First Bank Pension Custodian. She had relocated to Ibadan with her children while preparing to join her husband in the United States.
Chief Adelabu and members of the family expressed deep concern over the development but said they remain confident in the ability of security agencies to secure the safe release of the victims.
The family appealed to the public to remain calm, avoid speculation, and refrain from sharing unverified information that could compromise ongoing rescue efforts.
They also called on anyone with useful information that could aid the investigation to promptly report it to the appropriate security authorities.
The family assured that it would continue to cooperate fully with security agencies and provide updates as developments unfold.
