Join APC Or Be Remove- Sen. Marafa Tells Ekweremadu

Barely twenty hours after former Senate Leader, Ali Ndume advised Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu that he may be the next to be remove from his position, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Senate Caucus, Senator Kabir Marafa has advised Ekweremadu to defect to their party if he wants to remain in his position.
Ndume had on Tuesday advised Ekweremadu to watch his back, adding that he might be the next to be removed from office.
Marafa, gave the suggestion on Wednesday while moving a motion for the adoption of the votes and proceedings of Tuesday’s plenary and the motion was seconded by Senator Abdullahi Adamu (APC, Nasarawa West)
Marafa maintained that the position of the deputy senate president was meant for the party with the most representatives in the upper legislative chambers.
Reacting to the call, the Special Adviser to the Deputy President of the Senate, Uche Anichukwu, on Wednesday night, allay fear of Ekweremadu’s defection, saying his principal is still a PDP member.
“My boss remains a bonafide and committed member of the PDP,” he said.
Saraki was also sued in the High Court by the executive for allegedly rigging the election that brought him to power.
The latest shakeup in the Senate leadership is thus seen as a move by the President of the Senate to reach out to his aggrieved party members.
