IPAC Elections: Stakeholders Warn Senator Kashamu To Stay Clear, Reveal His Hijack Plans

By ABIODUN JIMOH, ABEOKUTA

Concern Leaders of various Political Parties in Ogun State has stated that plans by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)  former Senator, Buruji Kashamu to destabilize the peaceful transition of Ogun State Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC) leadership has been leaked.

Hon. Segun Oloyede, on behalf of Concerned Ogun State Political Parties stated this in a statement made available on Sunday where he called on security agencies and state government to warn Senator Kashamu to stop his unscrupulous plans to create acrimony during the elections billed for Tuesday.

Hon. Oloyede in the release alleged that Senator Kashamu plans to forcefully take over IPAC was hatched last weekend at his hotel in Lagos where he attempted to threaten and bribe a leading chairmanship aspirant to withdraw from the race for his proxy, Asiwaju Adesina who has never participated in Ogun IPAC activities up to date.

He said: “We reliably gathered that Senator Kashamu at the Lagos meeting bribed those that attended the meeting with half a million with a promise to give each one of them additional forty thousand on or before the commencement of IPAC elections on Tuesday.

“In his desperate attempt to forcefully highjack Ogun IPAC, another meeting was held at Dusmar hotel Abeokuta where a cheque of five million naira was shown to the attendees by Asiwaju Adesina, the stooge and proxy of Kashamu.

“Senator Kashamu through his proxy said he is interested in Ogun IPAC leadership as a means to be political relevant and a tool to fight Governor Dapo Abiodun if and when the needs arise in the near future.

“Senator Kashamu had earlier at Lagos meeting spoke glowingly about his agreement with the discredited and embattled Arabambi on soft landing and subtle gang up against governor Abiodun immediately after the IPAC elections.

“At the meeting, he also confirm that Arabambi has over the years be one of his tools for havocs in Ogun political arena, hence, his cooperation on the whole forceful take over by his stooge is guaranteed.”

Furthermore, he expressed that ordinarily, a character of Senator Kashamu would have been ignored, but recognising the fact that Ogun PDP is yet to recover from the cancerous infection of the senator incursion from 2011 to Date, therefore, anything called Kashamu in Ogun and Nigerian politics should be given all the required attention that will nip his unholy plans in the bud.

“It’s on this note we are calling on all relevant security agencies and political parties including opinion leaders to call Senator Kashamu to order on his ulterior motives on the forceful highjacking Ogun IPAC leadership.

“In the same vein, we call on the leadership of two major political parties in the state, All Progressive Congress (APC) and PDP to show commitment and special interest in the affairs of IPAC in Ogun State.

We hereby call on political party leaders in the likes of Chief Yemi Sanusi; Engr.Ayo Olubori; Comrade Tunde Oladunjoye; Hon. Sikiru Ogundele; Comrade Oginni Olaposi Sunday; Rt. Hon Tunji Egbetokun; Rt.Hon. Remi Hasan, and numerous other leaders to please show interest in workings and letters of IPAC in Ogun State.

“From the foregoing, it is imperative for the governor to show interest and concern on the leadership of IPAC. A collective efforts to rescue Ogun IPAC from the jugular of Arabambi and Kashamu is now or never,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, in his reaction to the allegation, Senator Kashamu through his media aide, Austin Oniyokor said: “I don’t think this badly written, incoherent and unintelligent concoction is deserving of my attention or response. There is no need to dignify the character behind this unfounded allegation with a response. He is better ignored. Thank you.”
