Insecurity: Armed robbers take over Orhionmwon communities, disposes Igbanke East APC Chairman of millions of naira
..… as Governor Obaseki continues to pocket over N800 million monthly security votes
Armed robbers yesterday struck in Ake-Igbanke Community in Orhionmwon Local Government Area robbing 5 households.
The dare devil robbers who were armed and masked stormed the community in the early hours of today 12th December 2021 and started with the residence of the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in the ward Chief Victor Eluehike Nwanbi where they dispossessed him of millions of naira meant for payment of cooperative members which he is a president.
The robbers then went ahead to rob four other residents while shooting sporadically into the air.
Police and vigilantes who were mobilised to the scene of the robbery got there late as there had no operational vehicle for quick movement.
Leader of the All Progressives Congress in the ward Engr. Prince Lucky Igbinedion who condemned the incident said he had put a call to police authorities to fish out the perpetrators of robbery incidence.
Engr. Igbinedion said it was pathetic that the Governor of Edo State will continue to pocket N800 million monthly security votes which is meant to provide logistics and equipments to security agencies to aid their operations.
He decried the spate of rise in insecurity in Orhionmwon noting that the local government with almost same size as Lagos State had only one operational vehicle for the police and that vehicle is parked at the mechanic workshop as at this morning.
The APC scribe said it was wicked of the Governor to continue to pocket over N800 million naira monthly security votes given freely to the state for security purposes when the people of Orhionmwon can no longer sleep or go about their activities with their two eyes closed.
