How hunger forced Dino Melaye out of hiding

Investigations have revealed that hunger among other unverified stories forced Senator Dino Melaye out of his hiding place.
Melaye had holed up in his Abuja residence resisting arrest by the police for alleged homicide office.
The senator representing Kogi East Senatorial District had been in a running battle with police , which culminated in the invasion of his house by the men and officers of the law enforcement agents in an attempt to pick him up. He also refused to be man enough and submit himself, like the former governor of Ekiti State did, to the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC).
Our source said that Melaye whose fresh ordeal with the Inspector General of police men started days after the Christmas celebration had thought that the men in black will leave after some days. But like the proverbial porcupine who refuses to leave the surroundings of ‘ogolo’ tree as long as the fruit refuses to fall, the police refused to give in.
They dug -in and instead of vacating the premises, they called for reinforcement. Cordoned- off all the entrance to and exit from the building thereby preventing entry or exit of persons to or from the building. And to make matters worse, they cut the source of electricity supply to the mansion.
” As as they cut our light, our taps went dry. All the house became dirty and smelling. We could not flush toilet, take our bath or cook. It was eight days of self imposed hell. And upon it all, we ran out of cooking gas. Our food items began to finish and we could not go the market to get new stock,” source who is one of the house helps of the senator whose marital status cannot be ascertained after his messy relationship with Nollywood star, Ibidapo Obe alias Bisi Logba, Logba, which produced a child that the senator questioned its paternity said.
He said that it was in the midst of the drama that their store house for food became empty and and when hunger be came unbearable, Melaye had no option but surrender more especially when his boss and friend, Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, appeared helpless.
There was also another angle to the story that he got a tip off that the police had concluded plans to obtain court permit to forcefully enter the building after 10 days and get him arrested. And that because he does want the kind of experience that led to his jump off a moving van, he succumbed.
