How Buhari copied and rejected ADC – Nwosu

*Eulogized Obj’s statesmanship and vision for Nigeria

The National Chairman of ADC, Ralph Nwosu has revealed how the philosophy and ideology of his party were copied by the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), the political party of President Muhammadu Buhari, before it was merged with ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2015.

Nwosu alleged that not only the ADC’s philosophy was tapped from, the President subsequently rejected his party till the birth of APC, which also adopted it “change” slogan.

The national chairman, who spoke when two time governorship candidate, Prince Gboyega Nosiru Isiaka (GNI) addressed a world press conference to formally join the party in Abeokuta, said however that former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo rather than followed Buhari’s footstep adopted ADC, in it totality thus making it “party of the moment” in Nigeria political space.

Nwosu who took members of the GNI group and journalists present down memory lane, said he toiled day and night for the survival of the party, until Obasanjo called him to shed more light on the philosophy, which tallied with that of the his Coalition for Nigerian Movement (CNM).

“When this party was formed in 2006, I went to Buhari for him to let us work together, but he rejected it.

“But, later I found out that his CPC party had copied ADC’s slogan and manifesto, which was later joined with the APC, the Congress was copied from ADC and change slogan.

“But just last month, Baba Obasanjo called to come and he was saying that he had read our philosophy and that it was the same with his CNM. He asked me more about the party and I told him that everything about it is already in his hands. That is a sign of a real person with a vision.

“I am ready to leave as the national chairman of the party in the overall interest of this party, in the interest of arising Nigeria from the present situation.”

Nwosu, who was accompanied by the National Secretary of the party, Abdullahi Baba, further alleged that he had been approached not to relinquish the party to Obasanjo, “because they know the implications of this.

“I refused to sell the party to them. I strongly believe that with Baba Obasanjo, we are together going to rescue this country with ADC,” Nwosu, who did not however mention the names of those who offered him the inducement said.

While denying the allegation that the party was bought from him by Obasanjo’s coalition, Nwosu said there was no iota of truth in the allegation declaring that, “nobody has ever approached me to buy ADC, but, as i said, they had offered me oil field not to collapse with Obasanjo’s coalition.”

Isiaka, while making the declaration, described the ADC as the third force that was morally conscripted to offer Nigerians an escape route from the failed promises of the status quo.

He said he was prepared and ready to contest as a governorship candidate in the 2019 election in Ogun State, as he was qualified for the post.We are prepared to face anyone. I am running for this position because I have all the qualifications to be the governor of the state,” he said.
