Housing Ministry Warns Public Against Fraudsters Over Forfeited Housing Units

The Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has issued a strong warning to the public, urging caution against fraudsters claiming involvement in the sale of 753 housing units recently forfeited to the Federal Government.
These properties, previously seized by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) from former Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele, were officially handed over to the Ministry in May 2025. At that time, the Minister of Housing, Arc. Ahmed Dangiwa, announced the government’s intention to sell the homes to interested Nigerians through a fair, transparent, and competitive process aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda.
However, in a statement released on Saturday by the Director of Press and Public Relations, Badamasi Haiba, the Ministry clarified that it has not authorized any individual or company to manage or conduct the sale of the properties.
“The Ministry has not appointed any consultant or firm to handle the sale of the 753 housing units confiscated from the former CBN governor,” Haiba emphasized.
This clarification comes in response to reports that a company, Pink Synergy Global Company Limited, has falsely claimed to be the official auctioneer for the properties. According to the Ministry, the company has been sending proposals and introductory letters to unsuspecting individuals and organizations, urging them to purchase ‘expression of interest’ forms.
A letter from the company, signed by its CEO, Yashim Kejang, was reportedly brought to the attention of the Ministry.
Haiba stressed that no sales process has commenced and urged the public to disregard any unofficial claims. “The Ministry will issue an official announcement with full details and guidelines on the sale process, as directed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he stated.
Members of the public are advised to seek clarification directly from the Ministry’s Public Building and Housing Development Department or the Press and Public Relations Unit before making any financial commitments.
