House of Reps member assures speedy passage of 2019 budget
The House of Representative member from Kebbi State, representing Arewa and Dandi federal constituency, Dr. Hussaini Kangiwa, has assured Nigerians that lawmakers will ensure speedy passage of 2019 budget.
The lawmaker gave the assurance while fielding questions from newsmen in Birnin Kebbi.
He said the 2019 budget would receive their attention without delay unlike the 2018 budget that was passed amidst controversies and disharmony between the executive and the legislature.
” I think Nigerians should not have to worry this time around as we have all learnt our lessons from the previous experience of what happened in 2018. I can assure you that the impasse that trailed the 2018 budget in the house before its passage will be avoided in 2019 “
He assured president Buhari that APC lawmakers are solidly behind him irrespective of what happened during the presentation of 2019 budget to the lawmakers.
“What happened during the budget presentation was unfortunate, it was orchestrated and carried out by the opposition but we the APC lawmakers overran them.
“We are solidly behind our president, we are in support of his anti-corruption crusade ” he said
Kangiwa also acknowledged Governor Bagudu as hardworking leader whom he described as ‘pace setter’ that succeeded in transforming Kebbi to becoming a major contributor to Nigeria’s economic growth through agriculture.
”Governor Bagudu left no one in doubt about the ability of APC to deliver on its campaign promises, look at how Kebbi State rice revolution triggered massive rice production and how importation of foreign rice was stop into Nigeria.”
