Hon. Chinda: Bad governance, religious bigotry, heightened insecurity with higher avoidable death rate among others led to people living APC
A member of the House of Representatives, representing Obio/Akpor Federal Constituency in Rivers State in the House of Representatives, Rep. Kingsley Chinda on Sunday shed more lights on why those defecting from ruling party, All Progressive Congress did so.
Hononurable Chinda who is also House Chairman, Public Accounts Committee (PAC) said the defectors are decamping for bad governance and bigger but silent stealing and corruption.
“Institutional blackmail and deceit. Nepotism and tribalism. Religious bigotry in high places: heightened insecurity with higher avoidable death rate: lack of recourse to rule of law and high handedness: politicization of everything, including security and economy”.
In chat with DAILY DISPATCH, Rep. Chinda however, advised opinion moulders not to bother defending or criticising the political movements.
“People will move on both sides. Always stand on the side of the truth and law, so you can hold your ground and not be contradicted at any time.
“In 2014, it happened nPDP and Speaker Tambuwal, they were said to be heroes of democracy. So what’s new or different today?
According to him, Nigerians are successfully bending the constitutional provision, stressing that “all we need do is learn and amend the constitution to be water tight in the interest of the public but unfortunately, when that is done, the President might not even assent to it because the ruling party is always the beneficiary, but for the present exception.
“Both PDP and APC are experiencing defections, before now PDP Members defected to APC; they are still occupying their seats and no noise other than jubilation came from government. A few in House of Reps are Hon. Nnana Igbokwe (Imo) Rochas was in the House to receive him from PDP: Hon. Hassan Saleh: Hon. Odende (Benue), they are now back to the PDP recently: Hon. Edwin Pajok.
“Why didn’t the government ask for their heads?
