“It is with great pleasure that I felicitate with the Muslim Ummah in the Obio/Akpor federal constituency of Rivers State, (and across the State) as they embark on the religious exercise of the Holy month of Ramadan.
“Ramadan, one of the five pillars of Islam, is a time for self reform, sacrifice, piety, charity and prayers.
“I therefore urge you to show love to all persons particularly the less privileged among us.
This period also provides an opportunity for intense prayers for our Leaders, particularly our President and indeed our country Nigeria.
“We pray for God to steer our leaders right and put the country on the path of sustainable economic growth and infrastructural development.
Hon. Chinda remind Muslims that the virtues of Ramadan should not be exercised in the Holy month only, adding that “they are virtues that should be imbibed by all Nigerians regardless of faith or ethic affiliations, in our quest for peace, security and stability.
“These are necessary for development of our nation. We must love one another, as required by all faiths, shun violence and embrace peace through tolerance. We must pursue the unity of Nigeria and Nigerians.
“Once again, I wish you all a rewarding month of Ramadan .
