According to the statement, Governor Sule was honoured with the award by the Independent Newspaper, which referenced the governor’s “investment, advocacy, and promotion of child education in Nasarawa State, which resonate across the country”.

Mr. Addra noted that the Independent Newspaper had, in a letter notifying the governor of the award, said, “If Sir Ahmadu Bello were to look back from his grave, he would no doubt be proud of Governor Abdullahi Sule for sustaining the legacy of free primary education”.

“Governor Sule will be honoured at a ceremony commemorating the Platinum Jubilee of Free Universal Primary Education in Nigeria, organized by the reputable news media.

“The award ceremony will hold on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

“Governor Sule has since expressed gratitude to the Daily Independent for recognizing the efforts of his administration to give the education sector the deserved attention through huge budgetary provision, innovation, supervision, and uncommon commitment.

“Engineer Sule dedicates the award to the citizens of the state for their support for his administration,” Addra added.
