Governor Makinde approves appointment of Mayowa Okekale as Technical Assistant on New Media
The Abuja Correspondent of News Express, Mr. Mayowa Joel Okekale, has been appointed Technical Assistant on New Media to the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde.
His appointment, conveyed via a letter dated 6th August, 2019, takes immediate effect.
A versatile and enterprising journalist, Mr. Okekale has four years experience covering the National Assembly (Senate) for News Express, an influential online daily based in Lagos. He equally covered other beats such as education, the Central bank of Nigeria (CBN) and other institutions in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Before his transfer to Abuja, Mr. Okekale was the Oyo State Correspondent of News Express Media Group.
He had earlier served as Assistant Editor to the Communications Officer of the Distance Learning Centre, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, between 2012 and 2014.
Okekale, who hails from Ogbomosho North Local Government Area of Oyo State, is a graduate of University of Ibadan, Ibadan. He owns the verified Twitter handle @mayorsticko.
Others whose appointments were also approved by Governor Makinde include Bosede Sadiq of Channels Television as Special Assistant on Broadcast; Mr Moses Alao of Nigerian Tribune as Special Assistant on Print Media; and Mr Dare Aleshinloye of ParrotXtra Magazine as Special Assistant Photography.
