GOVERNOR AMOSUN’S NEIGHBOURS PROTEST OVER TWO YEARS BLACKOUT

‎‎The neighbours of Ogun State Governor who are residents of Ijeja Stadium Community in Abeokuta,the State Capital on Wednesday protested over inability to enjoy electricity supply for two years.
The community with over 5,000 population protesters traced their plight to a fake 300kva(11,000v) transformer supplied  and installed to the community,which has remained non-functional.
The residents while protesting in front of the erected fake transformer  were seen with placards of various captions,which include; ‘Blackout in Ijeja stadium community for two years’,’Mr Governor please come to our rescue’,’Give us new transformer in Ijeja stadium community’,’Blackout has killed businesses in our community’,’Bring back our light,we are tired of blackout\’
They further lamented that,inspite being  neighbours of Ogun State Governor,Ibikunle Amosun,the community still lack the opportunity of enjoying electricity supply.
The community chairman of electricity maintenance,Emmanuel Evbuomwan in an interview with newsmen said they(residents) could not bear the suffering again,hence,resolve to embark on the protest.
Evbuomwan recalled that number of letters had been written to all relevant  authorities without favorable respond till date.
He said ‘The community which shares immediate neighbourhood with State Government House has been without light,since the 500KVA(11,000v) transformer serving the community broke down irreparable March last year 2016’.
‘We have written several letters to the Executive Governor of Ogun State,the Senator,and House of Representatives member representing this constituency and Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company Plc(IBEC) to get a replacement for the broken down transformer but all to no avail’,he added
