GOVERNOR AMOSUN USES ‘ABACHA VIDEO CLIP’ TO SACK ME, OGUN NLC CHAIRMAN
The sacked Chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress,NLC,Ogun State Chapter,Comrade Akeem Ambali has accused the Governor,Senator Ibikunle Amosun of using fake recordings which he described as ‘Abacha video clip’ to nail him.
Ambali stated during a round table discussions with journalists to herald in the 2017 Workers Day,just as he also declared that,he remains bonafide labour chairman,inspite of his purported sack.
He spoke further,that his ‘offence’,with Amosun dated back to when he led struggle for the implementation of payment of workers deductions,as well as his uncompromise nature at the determent of the workers.
Ambali explained that, the state government has no power to sack him as the chairman of the union,stressing that by International Labour Organisation,ILO,law,employee has right to decide who lead Nigeria Labour Congress.
His words ‘NLC is a conglomerate of industrial union. It you are not on the employment of state,it does not affect leading NLC. With ILO convention,employeer has no right to decide who lead NLC, and by ILO convention I have right to complete my term’
He further declared that,no employer has monopoly power of removing labour leaders. My removal was vindictive,stressing that, the government played ‘Abacha’ video to sack me’
He also dekunked speculations thet he has soiled his hand with government, hence, the opportunity for government to hit back at him and sacked, stressing that, that was a mischevious speculations, and untrue.
‘If I have any secret with government or soil my hands,they should come out and say it. I have not taken money from Ogun State Government,as being insinuated in some quarters. Government is not comfortable with me because I didn’t compromise’,the union boss said.
Ambali said, he would not relent in his efforts towards the welfare of workers,inspite of all odds, calling on the government to pay the seven months union deductions of the workers,as well thirteen months cooperative deductions.
‘As NLC chairman I remain in office. I thank God we are still in charge, we are still love by the people. We are not part of political problem of Ogun State,and we don’t want to be. We believe God will touch the heart of the Governor’
Ambali who has already dragged the state government to court, said he heard news of his sack on radio,but argued that he was a victim of vendetta,pointing out that,the cause of the problem was Nigeria Union of Teachers,NUT organised programme, where he(Ambali) was a guest
