GOVERNOR AMOSUN DECLARES OPEN 8TH GATEWAY TRADE FAIR
Ogun State Governor Senator Ibikunle Amosun on Friday officially declared open the 8th Gateway Trade Fair,just as the leadership of Chambers of Commerce,Industry,Mines and Agriculture, requested that the government transfer of MKO Abiola International Trade Fair Complex to the chambers.
The trade fair holding from 17th to 27th May, 2017. was in collaboration between the private business sectors and Ogun State Government,which was aim to to enhance agricultural development within the state with a view to promote small and large scale businesses.
Amosun in his speech said the platform creates an avenue for SMSEs, manufacturers and agencies to showcase products and services stressing that it is a viable forum for adding values to the agricultural sector of the economy.
He said, ” This Trade Fair is a platform for SMSEs, MAN and other agencies to come together and showcase their products and services. It is a viable forum for adding values to our agriculture. Let us take full advantage of what agriculture offers by not only growing seed but advancing into processing and marketing to curb the unemployment in the state.
“We have created an enabling environment for industrialisation and investment. Out state records an improvement in security, infrastructural developments and investment. We have 110 companies within the state generating N200million dollars or sometimes N200billion. The door is opened for all business and investments.”
Earlier in her speech, President of OGUNCCIMA, Adesola Adebutu, requested that the Governor transfer ownership of the MKO Abiola Complex to OGUNCCIMA stressing that the chambers has provided a running water system, electricity and other amenities in the arcade ground.
She said the Trade Fair is expected to gather Small, Medium and Large scale enterprises to exhibit products as well as agencies that promotes businesses.
