Governor Abiodun Earns High Praise from Elders Advisory Council for Development Strides
Governor Dapo Abiodun has received strong commendation from the Governor’s Elders Advisory Council for his administration’s achievements under the ISEYA development agenda over the past six years.
At the council’s quarterly meeting held in Abeokuta on Wednesday, the Chairman, Chief Oluneye Okuboyejo, highlighted several milestones, including the transformation of the Olumo Rock Tourist Centre and the installation of world-class landing equipment at the Gateway International Airport. He described these accomplishments as reflections of the Governor’s effective leadership and vision.
Chief Okuboyejo also applauded the Ogun State Executive Council for approving critical road projects across various local government areas, such as Ogbere-Orija-Bode Junction in Ijebu East, Erelu-Imosan Road in Odogbolu, Akute-Agbado Bridge in Ifo, Iperu-Ilishan in Remo, Imashayi-Igan Okoto in Yewa, and the Erinja-Ilobi Road.
“We have thoroughly reviewed the government’s activities and noted the areas of exceptional performance. As elders, it is our duty to recognize and commend progress. The Governor has been outstanding; we confidently rate his performance an A-plus across all focus areas of the ISEYA mantra,” Okuboyejo said.
He urged citizens to protect public infrastructure and treat state assets as communal property, emphasizing the role of vigilance in preventing vandalism.
Also speaking, former Deputy Governor and council member, Alhaja Salimot Badru, praised Governor Abiodun for driving economic growth and infrastructural renewal in Ogun State. She cited the newly constructed roads, enhanced airport facilities, and the facelift of the Olumo Rock Tourist Centre as key developments.
“We’re proud of the Governor’s accomplishments. The successful hosting of the National Sports Festival, the Gateway Games, further proves his commitment to progress,” she added.
In his remarks, another former Deputy Governor and member of the council’s executive committee, Senator Genga Kaka, expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for upgrading Tai Solarin University of Education to federal status and converting the Federal Polytechnic Ilaro into a university. He also commended the appointment of a management team for the new Federal University of Medicine and Medical Sciences in Abeokuta.
Senator Kaka acknowledged Governor Abiodun’s role in fostering the enabling environment that made these federal upgrades possible, describing it as a testament to his collaborative and forward-thinking approach to governance.
