Another political bell is ringing in the Gateway State,Ogun, where stakeholders are expected to exercise their francise to elect persons whom they could entrust the investments of the state unto. A person who would give them the assurances of life and living, a person who would take them out of human, material and financial bondage, a man who could quarantee good future for the teeming youths and the army of jobless graduates roaming the nooks and crannies of the state.
Ogun State, as the acronym implies had been the Gateway to all developments in the country; be you political,the likes of Pa Obafemi Awolowo, Pa Olabisi Onabanjo, in social cycle, the likes of Hubert Ogunde, Chief Ebenezer Obey, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, in Medcine, in Law and judiciary the Sowemimos. Ogun State from statistics produces the first human entrants to these and other professions in the country. This foundational privilege has definitly propelled the state into an enviable status among other states of the federation.
As the 2019 gubernatorial election in Ogun State is nocking around the corner , many people as would be expected are already all over the place, selling their dommy and unattainable promises. Already there has been noticable political manouvers,on a daily basis ,across the lenght and breath of the state, wide ranging consultations with political leaders in quest of endorsement,as well as unending politicalaligment and realignment are now order of the day as politicians and other bstakeholders strategise ahead of the next election. The quest, which is hinged on the hope that the gubernatorial ticket would be zoned to the Ogun West Senatorial District is based on the recuring outcry of unending marginalisation by the people of the district. This largely emanates from the claim that no person from the zone has governed the state since its creation in 1976.
For this major reason, people of Ogun West Zenatorial District in the Gateway state are already warming upto deploy their numerical and political strenght to uverturn the age long ginse and lopsidedness. Although some persons from this district have already indicated intrest in this plump position, one person outshines the rest. According to the book of wisdom, no one lights a candle and hides it under the bushel, it is put on the table top to give light to the world.
