Ghanaian railways development minister arrives Nigeria to inspect construction works

The minister of transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has received Joe Ghartey, his Ghanaian counterpart in charge of railways development, who is on a visit to Nigeria to inspect the federal government’s construction works.

Ghartey, who arrived Nigeria on Friday, March 29, will also participate in this inspection as his ministry in Ghana is also reportedly carrying out construction works similar to what is obtainable in Nigeria.

One of the minister’s close associates told our correspondent: “the Ghanaian minister is here to check out what we’ve done so far, and compare it with theirs.

“Not only is he coming to compare it with theirs, but to see if there are a few things they can add to their construction works which they recently embarked on.”

As at the time of filing this report, the Ghanaian minister alongside Nigerian host were on their way to the Nigeria Railway Corporation complex in Ebute-Metta area of Lagos, where the inspection exercise will kick off.
