Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim clinches ANN Presidential ticket, says Presidential bid not for small boys
The Presidential candidate of Alliance for New Nigeria, Mr. Gebenga Olawepo Hashim, has carpet those who want to run the party down, declaring that Presidential bid is not a joke, stressing “it’s a serious business”.
Mr. Olawepo who was unanimously elected by the 593 delegates of the party at the special presidential convention which took place at Ibeto Hotel on Wednesday declared that there is no space for small boy politics in ANN.
Obviously elated Gbenga, thanked every member of the party for showing that “there are no seat for traitors” while the ship is still sailing.
His words; “I thank every member of this party for showing that while this ship is still assailing, there are no seat for the traitors. By the grace of God, we will get to the promise land together. Nigerians want stability and tired of killings.
“This is not the time for meaningless rhetorics. This is not the time for apprentice leadership. Not the time for small boys playing games. 2019 must be a time for a decisive change in Nigeria”.
Speaking on what the party is offering Nigeria, Olawepo declared “We will deal with hunger no malnutrition in the country. A big economy that can cater for 18million people. We are going to run a knowledge based economy. We wait to unite the country the way it has always been. No discrimination.
“We will create jobs for graduates, support farmers, healthcare for the young and the old. That is where we are going to. There is no time for a small buy politics on the journey to the promised land.
“You have demonstrated that you will not succumb to the boys scout and girls guide. We are moving forward to a New Nigeria.
“We are unstoppable and no me can stop us. Everybody is saying Nigeria has to move forward because there is no refugee programme that can cater for 180million Nigerians. We can get it right and we will get it right.”
“The journey has started officially.
The ANN presidential candidate disclosed that there are seven other political parties to sign agreement with party, adding that ANN will only tolerate those who have a record to show. “Those who have burn the taste of military dictatorship’.
National Chairman of the party, Dr Jay Osi Samuels, in his speech at the convention, said “I am happy that this day has finally come. When we started this journey, we thought that it will be a platform to lift this nation to an enviable standard. There were troubles and many challenges. We never imagined that some of the challenges we faced in the past would still make us become a credible and fastest growing party amongst the new generation of the political parties in the country.
