FUNAAB Professor Distributes Palliatives To Rural Women

Professor Hellen Bodunde of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has put smiles on the faces of about 50 rural women at Apena area, Eleweran, Abeokuta, Ogun state capital.
The University Don in her magnanimity donated palliatives packages to alleviate the hardship being faced by women especially in this trying period of coronavirus pandemic across the globe.
The palliatives packages were carried out under the auspices of Education, Gender, Youth and Family Network (EDUGUF-N), a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), and it was aimed at assisting the state government by reaching out to those that the government palliatives could not reach.
The palliatives distribution of rice, beans, soap, nose cover, and eggs was also done alongside training for the women to take care of their households.
Speaking during the distribution, Professor Bodunde, who is the coordinator of the NGO said she was moved to assist the women who were always at the receiving end of issues affecting the family.
She hinted that the training on the making of hand washing soaps, hygiene and the mode of hand washing was to enable the women manage their families very well.
Accompanied by EDUGUF-N volunteers during the outreach, Professor Bodunde also used the training to gather information on the effects of the COVID-19 among the women.
