Fuel crisis: Laboured woman, baby died in a traffic jam

Tragedy struck during the week when a woman in labour pain gave up the ghost with her newly born baby.
The woman identified as Susan was reported to have started laboring at about 5: 30pm on Tuesday and was immediately rushed to the hospital located along Karu Jikowyi road in Abuja.
The unexpected happened when the cab man ran into a traffic gridlock as a result of fuel gueues which resulted in a serious traffic lock jam.
According to eye witness all efforts by the cab man to find alternative route proved abortive as both sides of the road was blocked even the police officers were said to be confused.
While still in the traffic jam the pregnant woman was reported to have delivered her baby inside the cab, but the joy did not last as she was said to have died shortly after that as a result of loosing so much blood.
Sources informed that while the father was calling for help the baby also died in the process.
According to our sources all efforts by the passers-by and other motorists to help situation proved helpless as no motorcycle operator was ready to assist the helpless man and his wife all claiming no fuel.
