FIVE KILLED IN LAGOS-IBADAN EXPRESSWAY CRASH

A fatal auto accident on Thursday has claimed lives of five persons,and three others seriously injured‎  in new Makun axis of  Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
The Public Relations Officer, Traffic Compliance and Enlightenment Agency, TRACE, Babatunde Akinbiyi  maade this known  to our correspondent adding that  the accident involved a truck and 18 seater passenger bus.
Akinbiyi attributed the crash to heavy down pour coupled with over speeding of the commercial Mazda bus with registration number LSD 454 XT which rammed into the truck.
The agency spokesman  further explained that  the bus has no functional wiper to control the rain on windscreen ,hence,the vision of the driver was blurred,resulting in the fatal auto crash.
He said the‎ impact of the collision resulted into the death of the five victims in the bus,who were traveling alongside other occupants,adding that, Governor Ibikunle Amosun who was on his way from Iperu town towards Lagos met the accident.
Akinbiyi disclosed that the governor convoy had to stop, to help in rescue mission of  the victims to Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Saagamu.
He added that, the corpses, which include a toddler, as at the time of filing this report had being deposited in the morgue, while the injured were also receiving treatment.
