Five dead in Taraba auto crash

An eighteen seater Toyota hiace bus conveying members of a family on their way to Takum local government  of Taraba state area yesterday for the burial of a relative, Mrs Briskila Albert Audu had an head on collision with an oncoming luxurious bus in Nyitan a town just a few kilometres from Takum on its way to Mararaba  .

According to sources at the scene of the incident, the driver was trying to avoid knocking down an okada rider who was loaded with aluminium roofing sheets, and in the process collided with the luxurious bus due the bad road, five passengers including two females and three males died instantly at the scene while others sustained various degrees of injuries and were moved to Takum general hospital.

I visited the Takum local government general hospital mortuary and saw the five corpses who had already died and was able to see other victims of the incident who were receiving medical attention at the facility, I also spoke with the driver of the bus who had one of his legs badly fractured he was in pains and could barely talk but managed to say, he thanked god for saving his life and those of other surviving passengers who were also receiving treatment at the hospital.

Before leaving the premises of the hospital, I saw ambulances conveying some victims of the incident who were in dire need of critical medical attention to jalingo, the states capital for proper medical examination.
