FirstBank, NLNG, Shell Partner with QEDNG for Creative Powerhouse Summit

First Bank of Nigeria, one of the country’s foremost financial institutions, has partnered with Mighty Media Plus Network Limited to support the inaugural edition of the QEDNG Creative Powerhouse Summit.

Joining FirstBank in backing the event are Nigeria LNG (NLNG) and Shell Nigeria—two prominent entities in the nation’s energy and development sectors.

The partnerships were announced on Monday by Olumide Iyanda, CEO of Mighty Media Plus Network Limited. He described FirstBank’s participation as a bold endorsement of Nigeria’s burgeoning creative sector.

“FirstBank’s involvement is a continuation of its commitment to nurturing the creative economy,” Iyanda said. “Through its First@arts initiative, the bank has remained a dependable ally to artists, institutions, and organisations striving to elevate Nigeria’s cultural heritage.”

First@arts, FirstBank’s dedicated platform for the arts, offers funding, advisory support, and visibility to creative professionals. The bank has been a major supporter of renowned events and institutions, including The Headies Awards, Lagos International Theatre Festival, Duke of Shomolu Productions, Terra Kulture, and Freedom Park.

In highlighting NLNG’s role, Iyanda commended the company for its prestigious Nigeria Prizes for Literature, Science, and Literary Criticism—each valued at up to $100,000.

“NLNG continues to champion innovation and intellectual excellence, inspiring generations of writers, scientists, and critics with these landmark prizes,” he noted.

Iyanda also applauded Shell Nigeria for its long-standing dedication to education and community advancement, emphasizing the alignment of Shell’s initiatives with the summit’s objectives.

“Shell’s consistent investment in education and youth development underscores our shared belief in building a better future through knowledge and creativity,” he said.

He revealed that additional sponsors would be announced in the lead-up to the event.

Scheduled for Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., the QEDNG Creative Powerhouse Summit will be held at Radisson Blu Hotel, Isaac John Street, Ikeja GRA, Lagos. Themed “Financing as Catalyst for a Thriving Creative Economy,” the summit aims to convene creatives, investors, policymakers, and industry leaders to address key funding challenges confronting Nigeria’s creative sector.
